Eligibility

Player Eligibility

Bantam Age Group

For the 2019 season players are to be born in 2004 or 2005.

League Boundaries

Boundaries for the SBAAABL for the 2019 season include players living within the Saskatoon city limits, and the greater Saskatoon area which includes players living within 35 kms of the city limits where there is no closer AAA baseball program. Players living outside of the city limits must contact the Registrar for Executive approval prior to registering for tryouts.

For those players living outside of the boundaries as outlined above, wishing to play in the SBAAABL the Sask Baseball zone transfer process will apply.

The player must first request and obtain a written release from Baseball Saskatchewan through the Governor in their respective zone. The player must then forward a copy of the release to the Zone Six Governor and to Baseball Saskatchewan along with confirmation of their age, permanent address and reason for requesting to play in the SBAAABL. All releases should be forwarded to the Zone Six Governor and Baseball Saskatchewan by March 1st, prior to tryouts, otherwise SBAAABL will reject the transfer.

Baseball Saskatchewan zone transfers

The SBAAABL Executive will consider the following factors when determining the acceptance or rejection of potential players:

      1. Whether or not the player has a comparable team to play with in their home zone.
      2. The out of town player’s geographic proximity to practice and playing locations - logistical challenges.
      3. The impact to the baseball program in their respective zone.

Players living outside the boundaries that have been accepted to play in the SBAAABL are only approved for (1) one season. Players must reapply each year.
